Predictions for 2022
The big players are constantly investing in the development and modernization of their infrastructure. Open DWDM systems and infrastructure simplification are increasingly important. True IP-over-DWDM is just around the corner. Since 2020, we have seen giant acquisitions of powerful brands in both optical and semiconductor technology. These are serious impulses for development in the field of transmissions of 400 Gbps and higher. Modules with PAM4 and coherent modulation will have a several times increase in market share.

The year 2022 will bring a dynamic development of the Data Center sector in Poland. There will be an increased demand for higher data throughput. Several large investments are planned, and current providers are expanding existing data centers with devices capable of transferring data at 400 Gbps.
Salumanus, anticipating the development of events, has prepared the largest offer of 400G optical modules. This allows us to successfully participate in key implementations at the largest telecommunications service providers in Poland.

The pandemic, significant delays in the delivery of equipment, large acquisitions - all this makes it necessary for telecom operators to work even closer with equipment suppliers. This will allow you to select the right set of devices available at an acceptable time and will allow you to fully respond to the requirements of the network. On the one hand, this is a big challenge, on the other hand, a huge opportunity for “3rd party” distributors.
Those who are more flexible in their individual approach to the customer and support their business partners at every stage to successfully complete implementations will win. At Salumanus, we are constantly working to ensure that the optical modules we supply to customers are universal, completely independent of the equipment chosen by the operator. This is our answer to the challenges of 2022 and beyond.

Already today, transfer intermediaries or cryptocurrency exchanges use the possibility of electronic verification of customers' identities using KYC services. For Internet providers and global players in the data transfer market, this is a particularly challenging period. The focus of services on virtual or cloud environments requires faster and more reliable transfers.
Simply put, the aggregation of traffic in data centers and traffic exchange points today requires network interfaces, not 10 Gbps or 100 Gbps, but we are moving faster and faster towards 400 Gbps. Cybersecurity issues are also taking on quite a new meaning. This will also be one of the biggest challenges so that the next global crisis does not occur due to the immobilization of information systems by organized hacking attacks.
