More than a million more farms with access to the network
Fiber is currently the fastest growing access technology in Poland. And although editor Łukasz Dec admits that the data made available by the Office of Electronic Communications raise some interpretative doubts, the scale of the described phenomena can be read from them:
- At the end of 2021, 9.6 million households in Poland were within reach of even one optical access network of any operator. Compared to the previous edition of the report, this was 1.1 million more farms.
- The number of FTTH optical network terminations grew from just over 2 million to 5.9 million between 2019 and 2021.
- Orange remains the leader in this market. Telko.in estimates that during the year 2021 the coverage of its services has increased by close to one million residential units.
In the report you will also find the article “Breakthrough in iPodWDM - colossal savings for telko and data center”, and in it our experts Marcin Bała and Andrzej Wojnar propose solutions that reduce the cost of maintaining the network.
